66فَعَمِيَت عَلَيهِمُ الأَنباءُ يَومَئِذٍ فَهُم لا يَتَساءَلونَMuhammad Asadbut all arguments and excuses will by then have been erased from their minds,1 and they will not [be able to] obtain any [helpful] answer from one another.2Lit., "will on that Day have become obscured to them". The operative noun anba; which literally denotes "tidings", has here the compound meaning of "arguments and excuses" (Tabari).I.e., they will all be equally confused.
